Image Components

An Image Components is an object which allows images to be inserted as part of a network. An Image Component can be added to the current network by activating the Image Component Tool item of the Edit Menu or Edit Mode Tool Bar, and clicking somewhere in the Network Pane. This will open a dialog where an image file can be chosen.

Images are inserted with a size determined by the resolution of the chosen image file. An image can can be resized by dragging on a given corner to achieve the desired size. Dragging an image anywhere but the corner allows the image to be repositioned.

Further image options are available in the popup menu available via right-clicking a given image.

The first two options, “move image(s) to the front” and “move image(s) to the back” respectively, allow manipulation of the rendering order of the images. Selecting either option will make all selected images appear either on top or on the bottom, depending on the option chosen.

The third option allows changing the image file displayed in a given image component. When selected this option will open a dialog similar to when an image is created, and when an image file is selected in this dialog, it will replace the image previously displayed within the component. However the size and position of the image is maintained.

When saving a network containing images, it is important to ensure that all image files are in the same directory as the network file, to ensure that they are still available when loading the network. Should the file be missing it is possible to simply replace it using the aforementioned popup menu.
